ROTTEN CORE CLOTHING FEATURED ON THE NERDY BIRD SITE: SHOWCASING LOCAL ARTIST, MUSIC, AND FASHION

At 10:00 A.M. on Saturday November 4, 2017, I followed the morning traffic and clear skies to a location that was foreign to me. With excitement, I made my way up the stairs and was greeted by the co-founder of Rotten Core Clothing. Dwayne Bell met me with excitement and vast creative energy that quickly transferred itself to me. As we laughed lightly catching up for a moment, he introduced me to the other co-founder Stephen Muse. Stephen was equally respectful and charming and we chatted as they led me to my attire for the morning.
Let’s back up, I received a call from Dwayne a few weeks prior with an inquiry about my availability. From there, we established an understanding of responsibilities and goals; officiating my position as a Rotten Core Model for the release of the new winter line. Rotten Core Clothing was established in 2015 and is a powerful unisex line that is pairing uplifting messages with trendy street wear. The winter line is about to hit the streets of Baton Rouge and has a lot of flare, flavor, and swag to bring to the table. Stay tuned for updates about their new website and gear.
Now back to the adventure. As I gathered my things and headed towards the dressing rooms, I stopped briefly to mingle with the other girls. Elisha Jerkins, Maya Anderson, and Myra Jane were all beautiful and even better, they were personable! Each model was able to represent a different aspect of personal beauty. Positive vibes and high levels of energy bounced from person to person as Dwight Bell, Photographer/ Creative Director captured the best of moments on film. With assistance from Bernel Green, the lines Fashion Coordinator, we were able to bring our personalities out for a set of genuinely fly pictures.
With group shots, imdividual shots and plenty of behind the scenes fun, the shoot was so much fun to be able to experience. As my time elapsed, I gathered my things and quickly departed to make it to another engagement. With more scenes to shoot, the girls continued to heat up the camera lens. I was escorted out and thanked for my time and punctuality. It was both inspiring and refreshing to start my day off with such positive vibes. I am humbled that you all selected me and am proud to see the line doing so well. Continue being great young Kings. You guys stay tuned for all things Rotten Core as 2018 will provide a new platform for this dope street wear with meaning!
